Come and join us in this supportive environment including brain and memory exercises
for dementia and Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers. This class takes place on the second
Tuesday of every month from 10:00-11:30AM at the Sam Johnson Recreation Center (SJRC) at
401 W. 16th St., Plano. No registration required. Membership to the SJRC is not required to participate.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursday from 9-10:00am at the McKinney Senior Recreation Center. Also on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 10:30-noon at the Allen Senior Recreation Center. And also from 11:15 - 12:15 on the first and third Monday of every month at the Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+. The program is designed for those with early dementia or Alzheimers and seniors wanting to exercise their brain power. This class is full of puzzles, games and conversation to stimulate the brain and memory. No reservation is required. Come and join our group!
Caregiver Support Groups
If you're in the role of a caregiver, you may be feeling worn down, frustrated and tired? Join Ann Chinloy, LCSW, for a support group of other caregivers and leave knowing you are not alone. Held on the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8:30pm at the Sam Johnson Recreation Center (SJRC) at 401 W. 16th St., Plano . They also meet the second Wednesday of every month at the McKinney Senior Recreation Center from 1-3pm. No cost to you, so come and feel supported and encouraged by Ann and other caregivers.
Buried In Treasures 16-Week Workshop
Is your stuff taking over your home? Causing conflict or tension with your family and friends?
Join us for Buried in Treasures: A class for people who are compulsive collectors. Buried in Treasures is a 16-week class that walks you through the process of regaining control of your possessions. Based on book “Buried in Treasures” by Tolin, Frost, and Steketee.
Every Thursday, January 9th to April 23rd, 2020 from 9:00 - 10:30am in Classroom #2. There is a fee of $20 to cover the cost of the book that accompanies the class.
